Valle del Cauca
An Unknown Destination

Destination
Valle del Cauca, one of Colombia’s most diverse regions, faces a unique challenge: its capital, Cali,
captures nearly all visitor attention, leaving many of the department’s natural and cultural treasures still
undiscovered, even by locals.
With this vision, one of the project’s key actions brought the rhythms and movements of Valle del Cauca’s
Pacific region to some of Europe’s most iconic landmarks: the Colosseum in Rome, the Louvre Museum in
Paris, and the Royal Palace in Madrid. These cultural expressions introduced our traditions to new
audiences, proving that the richness of Valle del Cauca belongs on the global stage.

To overcome the challenge of diversifying
tourism offerings and attracting a greater
influx of visitors, a promotional campaign
was designed with four key pillars,
focused on positioning Valle del Cauca as
a first-class tourist destination with a
diverse and high-quality offering.

Magical towns
Promote the diversity of natural
landscapes and hidden gems on easy-to-
navigate routes between magical towns,
with a focus on eco-tourism and musical
and culinary traditions.
Niche Travelers:
birdwatching,
adventure and
extreme sports
Many regions in Colombia offer
significant eco-tourism.
The great challenge with the Valley was to
communicate a competitive advantage
that was difficult to replicate and position
it as a unique destination in the minds of
high-income segments. Cauca Valle
hosts the world paragliding
championships, is the region with the
greatest bird diversity in the world, is the
world capital of shark diving, and has one
of the fastest winds in Latin America for
water sports.
The destination’s uniqueness was clear: it
boasts biodiversity and natural conditions
that make it a powerhouse for
birdwatching, adventure, and extreme
sports tourism. These segments attract
visitors willing to invest large sums in
experiences, which translates into
significant revenue for the local economy,
benefiting a wide range of sectors.
